[Generous-tip_the-generous-wife.com] The Generous Wife tip for Friday January 2, 2009

My husband and I joined a gathering of friends today, sampled various chilis (everyone brought some of their favorite kind to share), played silly games and generally had great fun with lots of good natured teasing, laughter, and some very bodacious cranberry cookies.  This was followed by a much quieter meal with a friend where we enjoyed interesting conversation over Vietnamese food.
Years ago, if I had looked forward in my life I would never have seen a day like today.  I'm an introvert.  I love to putter in my own kitchen, curl up with a good book and traveling is not something I even think about.  However ... I married Paul.  He's a extrovert who loves to travel, try new restaurants and generally grabs life by the tail enjoying everything that is out there (honestly there are days that I wonder how we found each other, much less wound up married).
Over the years we have learned how wonderful our differences can be.  I've tasted cuisine from many nations (and enjoyed it) and my hubby has enjoyed Backgammon over hot chocolate in the quiet warmth of our own home.  Our differences pull us into activities and choices that we would not have chosen alone, but in the long run has made our lives fuller and way more fun.
I encourage y'all to share your world and allow yourself to be drawn into your husband's world.  With a little give and take there are many good adventures to share and enjoy.
