The Generous Wife tip - Friendships that edify

Lori's tip for today is a good one as always:

Paul and I are good friends with another couple. Over the past few months our relationship with them has become rather difficult and it was all coming to a head in a rather painful way. We chose to involve a third party in trying to sort things out. I won't say that miracles happened, but we were able to talk and work through some of the difficulties. We hope to continue to work through our differences and remain friends.
The reason I share this is because I think that the "third party principle" is a good thing. Sometimes you just need someone else to keep things honest, fair and sane. If you are particularly struggling in your marriage, I encourage you to consider involving a third party. That might be a counselor, a mentor, or even just a wise friend.
